Jacksonville Area Soccer Association (JASA) Announces New Director of Coaching: Justin Moose

Jacksonville, NC – Jacksonville Area Soccer Association (JASA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Justin Moose as our new Director of Coaching, effective December 23, 2023. Justin brings a wealth of experience and a sterling reputation in the soccer world, marking an exciting chapter for our club.

About Justin Moose:

Born on November 23, 1983, in Statesville, North Carolina, Justin Moose is not only an American former professional soccer player but also an impressive leader in the soccer world.

College and Amateur Career:
Justin's soccer journey commenced at Wake Forest University from 2002 to 2005, where he earned prestigious accolades such as ACC Rookie of the Year and NSCAA First Team All-American in both 2004 and 2005. His remarkable record at Wake Forest includes an astounding 29 assists, setting an all-time record for the university. During his college years, Justin's brilliance extended to the USL Premier Development League, where he was honored as the Rookie of the Year in 2004.

Professional Path:
Justin's professional career saw him selected in the first round, 7th overall, by D.C. United in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft. He made eight Major League Soccer appearances before his release in 2007. Justin continued to make his mark with the Vancouver Whitecaps, playing a pivotal role in their triumphant 2008 USL First Division Championship win. His passion for the sport took him overseas, where he played in Thailand with Sriracha F.C. and in Finland with HJK Helsinki and SJK. Justin's journey eventually led him back to the United States, where he joined USL Pro's Wilmington Hammerheads in 2015.

A Message from Justin Moose:
In his own words, Justin Moose expresses his excitement: "I'm thrilled to be joining JASA as your new Director of Coaching. I'm excited to get to know everyone and dedicate myself to the continued development of both our coaches and players. Just a few weeks ago, my family and I returned from a 2.5-year adventure in London, where I completed a Master's in Football Coaching and Analysis while coaching with Southampton FC. I'm motivated to apply those experiences in this important role at JASA and contribute to the club's success. We will be collaborating to provide new resources for the players, coaches, and parents of all of our programs. This includes building a structured club framework to help every player, regardless of talent, reach their full potential as a player and person. I hope everyone has a joyous holiday season, and I look forward to meeting everyone in the new year."
