League Standards

In-House Rules

U4-U6 JASA Juniors

  • Field Dimensions: 15 yards wide x 25 yards long.

  • Goals: 3 feet x 4 feet.

  • Ball Size: Size 3

  • Officiating: Both opposing coaches will referee.

  • Format: 3v3 on field. Max roster 5. No goalkeepers.

  • Substitutions: Allowed at coaches' discretion during any stoppage.

  • Playing Time: Equal playing time for all players.

  • Restarts: Goal kicks, corner kicks, sideline out of bounds (dribble-ins or kick-ins - no throw-ins),  and all free kicks are indirect (no penalty kicks).

  • Game Duration: 4 quarters @ 8 minutes, 1-minute break between 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th quarters, and a 4-minute halftime.

  • Offside: None.

  • Heading: Not allowed. If a player intentionally heads the ball, the game stops and restarts with a drop ball.

U7/8 SPARK

  • Field Dimensions: 35 yards wide x 25 yards long.

  • Goals: 12 feet x 6 feet.

  • Ball Size: 3

  • Officiating: One or both coaches can referee.

  • Format: 5v5 with a goalkeeper (4 field players, 1 keeper).

  • Substitutions: Goal, goal kicks, throw-ins, or injury.

  • Playing Time: Equal playing time for all players.

  • Restarts: Goal kicks, corner kicks, throw-ins, and all free kicks are indirect (no penalties).

  • Game Duration: 4 quarters @ 10 minutes, 1-minute break between 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th quarters, and a 6-minute halftime.

  • Build-out line: Opposing team must be behind the build-out line on goalkeeper saves and goal kicks.

  • Offside: None.

  • Heading: Not allowed. If a player intentionally heads the ball, the game stops and restarts with a drop ball.

U9/10 SPARK

  • Field Dimensions: 45 yards wide x 60 yards long.

  • Goals: 6.5 feet x 18.5 feet.

  • Ball Size: 4.

  • Officiating: One or both coaches can referee.

  • Format: 7v7 with a goalkeeper (6 field players, 1 keeper).

  • Substitutions: Goal scored, goal kicks, throw-ins, or injury.

  • Playing Time: Equal playing time for all players.

  • Restarts: Indirect except for penalty kicks. Opposing team will be 8 yards from the ball.

  • Game Duration: 2 halves @ 25 minutes with a 5-minute halftime break.

  • Offside: Enforced only in cases of clear and obvious violations.

  • Build-out line: Opposing team must be behind the build-out line on goalkeeper saves and goal kicks.

  • Penalty Kicks: Direct kicks in the box result in a penalty.

  • Heading: Not allowed. If a player intentionally heads the ball, the game stops and restarts with a drop ball.

Rumble

  • Field Dimensions: 50 yards wide x 75 yards long.

  • Goals: 7 feet x 20 feet.

  • Ball Size: 5

  • Officiating: One ref assigned

  • Format: 8v8 with a goalkeeper (6 field players, 1 keeper).

  • Substitutions: Goal scored, goal kicks, throw-ins, or injury.

  • Playing Time: Equal playing time for all players.

  • Restarts: Indirect except for penalty kicks. Opposing team will be 8 yards from the ball.

  • Game Duration: 2 halves @ 25 minutes with a 5-minute halftime break.

  • Offside: Enforced only in cases of clear and obvious violations.

  • Build-out line: Opposing team must be behind the build-out line on goalkeeper saves and goal kicks.

  • Penalty Kicks: Direct kicks in the box result in a penalty.

  • Heading: Allowed

Additional Rules

*Parents should position themselves on the opposite side as the coaches and teams (U7/8 and older). 

*Player Equipment: Soccer must wear cleats (or tennis shoes) and shin guards.
